More hi-tech and more eco-friendly. The technological wc of the future will be a pearl of engineering, with functions that will not only let its uses even more pleasant, but also help the ambient.

In reality, most of the functions of the technological wc of the future already exist, but they haven’t contaminated the western culture yet. In Japan, for example, there’s the washlet, a wc with particular technological features, like the automatic opening and closing of the cover, which can also be heated, with the possibility to regulate the temperature. But also stranger features, like the possibility to acrivate sounds that will cover up embarrassing noises.

Moreover,  with the enormous diffusion of smartphones, domotics will be part of everyday. It can be used for every bathroom component, like the shower or the bathtub, or to manage the wc of the future. Few taps on the device and you’ll can heat the toilet seat, play the music while comfortably seated on the wc, clean it automatically.

But the technological wc of the future will also be “green”. In the Third World, the lack of adequate hygienic systems causes the death of hundreds of people every year. Bill Gates recently announced the contest “Reinvent the toilet”. Scientists from all over the world presented their prototypes: some let excrements and urine be transformed in energy or other useful substances, as water to let its functions work.
