Latest generation shower trays increasingly include finishes, treatments and processes that provide an anti-slip surface and reduce the slipperiness of ceramics in the presence of water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problem that is created in the shower area is the so-called \u201chydroplaning\u201d, i.e., the formation of a film of water that causes skidding, the same phenomenon as can be experienced in cars when it rains heavily. In the shower, the high concentration of water and the presence of soap completely nullify the adherence between the foot and the surface of the tray, giving rise to the risk of slipping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presence of an anti-slip finish<\/strong> in the shower area is essential regardless of the material the tray is made of: whether ceramic, resin, tile or mineral marble, the problem of hydroplaning will always arise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to avoid the use of the unattractive and not very hygienic shower mat, the non-slip shower tray has become a must-have product for bathroom fixtures manufacturers. This effect is achieved through ceramic relief decor, embossing, matt and rough finishes, and special treatments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Very often the question arises as to how to clean a ceramic shower tray and whether special procedures are required. When it comes to ceramic surfaces, the same rules apply as for all other items made of this material::<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– dry the shower tray with a soft cloth after use<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– observe the setting times and the instructions written on the packaging of the cleaning agent<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– do not mix several cleaning agents together<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– do not use abrasive detergents or sponges<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– do not use any excessively acidic\/basic or fluoride-based cleaning agents<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same criteria and precautions apply to the cleaning<\/strong> of shower trays with anti-slip<\/strong> decoration or finish. Shower trays with antibacterial treatment, on the other hand, are a different matter: in this case it is best to follow the manufacturer’s specific instructions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
