In the last articles about the evolution of the bathroom<\/strong> we focused on the explanation of how this space has changed over time.<\/p>\n

In this post we present a collection of the main works of art that depict the story of the bathroom of different historical periods, according to the vision of the artists.<\/p>\n

Tintoretto<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Tintoretto painted a corner of the garden which houses an elegant outdoor bathroom. In the representation of Susanna and the Elders<\/a>, name of the painting examined, you can see how the bathroom becomes a public place and also refined.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Rembrandt<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In the middle of \u2018600 the look of the bathroom is simple and bare. In the painting Betsabea in the bathroom <\/em>it is possible to notice a first evolution in the story of the bathroom<\/strong>. It returns in a domestic and reserved space. The picture is characterized by dark tones with the protagonist in clear contrast, as if to subtly hide the surrounding bathroom.<\/p>\n

Jean L\u00e9on G\u00e9r\u00f4me<\/strong><\/h2>\n

After 200 years, in the peak of \u2018800, an artistic school deeply-rooted to the neoclassical method, started to paint the the space of the bathroom in a different way, in oriental style.<\/p>\n

Jean L\u00e9on G\u00e9r\u00f4me<\/a> in one of the main exponent of this trend. In the painting \u201cMoorish Bath\u201d you can admire an indigenous woman intent to wash a fair-skinned woman in a structure very similar to the harem pools.<\/p>\n

Roy Lichtenstein<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Also in Pop Art the space of bathroom was represented. Roy Lichtenstein<\/a> in his painting \u201c Woman at bathroom\u201d expressed in the best way as possible the bathroom in cartoony style giving the idea of an advertising of bathroom fixture<\/a>.<\/p>\n
